June 9, 2025

City officials in Pendleton, Oregon, joins distributed energy project developer Ameresco to inaugurate a 240-kW solar canopy at the city’s Wastewater Treatment and Resource Recovery Facility (WWTRRF).

The project is expected to generate about 325,000 kWh of electricity annually, offsetting the energy use of the WWTRRF by 30%. The project is part of an initiative  to install renewable energy and efficiency upgrades designed to reduce the facility's carbon footprint and operational costs at the treatment plant.
