The Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) has placed an order with ElDorado National (California), a subsidiary of REV Group, for 22 of its 40' Axess CNG-powered buses and four of its new 40' Axess EVO-BE Battery Electric buses.

Compressed natural gas is compared to gasoline by 126.7 cubic feet of CNG equals one gallon. On that level, CNG is more than $1 per gallon of gas equivalent cheaper and emit 30 percent less carbon dioxide and up to 95 percent less nitrogen oxide, both considered greenhouse gases, according to several environmental sources.

The order was placed through ENC’s dealer in North America – Creative Bus Sales. The buses are expected to be delivered in Summer 2023.

“At DFW, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact and leading the industry with our sustainability efforts,” said Ken Buchanan, EVP Revenue Management and Customer Experience. “Over 70 million travelers pass through our airport every year, and we continue to focus on using renewable energy sources to safely transport them while we focus to reduce carbon emissions and achieve the goal of net-zero by 2030.”

The new Axess EVO-BE is the next-generation zero-emissions battery electric buses by ENC, designed for every transit and shuttle application. It comes with 738 kWh of battery energy storage.
