General Motors collaborates with SunPower on developing Vehicle-to-Home power

Chevrolet Silverado EV customers will be able to set up the system for vehicle-to-home (V2H) power or do so later. SunPower and GM will provide services to evaluate the compatibility of the home electrical system

SunPower and General Motors have collaborated to to create a bi-directional home energy system that will combine former’s residential power expertise with the latter’s electric vehicle technologies

The system will be available alongside the launch of the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV, which is expected in Fall 2023. Chevrolet Silverado EV customers will be able to set up the system for vehicle-to-home (V2H) power or do so later. SunPower and GM will provide services to evaluate the compatibility of the home electrical system with bi-directional charging.

For interested customers, SunPower and GM will assess the home's electrical system for compatibility with bi-directional charging. Customers can also choose to purchase a SunPower solar system for their home.
