Arauco, a manufacturer of forestry products, pulp, and engineered wood, has paid a pre-order agreement with Cyngn Inc., a developer of AI-powered autonomous industrial driving solutions, for 100 autonomous electric DriveMod-enabled forklifts. The agreement aims to enhance Arauco’s operations and drive efficiency in its material handling processes through AI innovations while supporting Arauco’s overall environmental goals. Delivery of the 100 forklifts is set to begin in 2024.
"Working with Arauco is a testament to the transformative power of autonomous technology in the industrial sector," said Lior Tal, CEO of Cyngn. “By combining our expertise in computer vision and AI algorithms, we are confident in delivering the performance and utility required for their operations with our DriveMod autonomous forklifts."
Cyngn’s autonomous electric forklifts, which have an individual lift capacity of 10,000 pounds, will help support Arauco by creating solutions to the labor shortage, safety concerns, and efficiency challenges faced by many manufacturers.
The partnership has the potential for growth to include expanding DriveMod systems across multiple Arauco sites and use cases, further increasing their autonomous forklift fleet in the coming years.
