Pilot Flying J Expands Electric Vehicle Charging Network
North American truck stop and convenience store chain Pilot Flying J has now achieved installation of electric vehicle charging stations at more than 300 of its Pilot and Flying J stops across the continent.
Earlier this month, Pilot reported it has added 50 new EV charging sites across 25 states so far this year. The frequency of EV charging availability within the company’s network of states ensures that “summer travelers can confidently navigate long-distance road trips without range or experience anxiety,” according to Tennessee-based Pilot’s summer update.
“Pilot’s coast-to-coast EV network offers a comprehensive, exceptional experience with fast chargers and 24/7 monitoring, and many locations offer drivers canopies to escape the weather and their favorite Pilot eats offerings,” reads the company release.
Pilot Flying J serves more than 1 million customers a day across its network of stores. To accommodate a growing fleet of EV drivers, three years ago the chain announced it was opening the first 17 locations of the national EV fast charging network.
Pilot Travel Centers has partnered with GM and EVgo, as well as public infrastructure agencies and electric utilities, to build out the fast-charging network. Eventually, Pilot hopes to install 2,000 fast-charging stalls at as many as 500 Pilot and Flying J travel centers throughout the U.S., the company said.
