Fuel cells developer Advent Technologies has delivered its portable power products to the Hellenic Army’s Z Amphibious Raider Squadron.
The portable battery charger has been designed to meet the off-grid power needs in performance-demanding settings, like those faced by the Squadron. The Hellenic Army is the land unit of the Greek military.
The fuel cell can power off-grid radio, surveillance gear, and other mobile electronic military equipment. It uses the Company’s proprietary methanol reformation technology for excellent performance and reduction in size and weight.
It is lightweight and compact. It can fit in the soldier plate carrier systems and rucksacks and deliver up to 50 watts of continuous power and up to 85W of peak power. This means it can provide power for a variety of high power electronic devices.

The fuel cell works silently and runs uninterrupted off grid for up to two weeks with a single hot-swappable fuel tank.
Advent fuel cells utilize the hydrogen in various fuel resources, including e-methanol and natural gas. Hydrogen does not emit carbon dioxide when energized.
