Accelerating the Adoption of Microgrids: Nov. 28 EnergyTech Webinar with Schneider Electric

Nov. 15, 2023
One reason for the interconnection delays and slow road from design to commissioning is the fact that the process is resource-intensive and often custom-engineered. Standardization and modularity might go a long ways to improving that timeline

Microgrids are popping up everywhere power certainty is a must, from military bases to hospitals, public service centers, and even bakeries.

Numerous research forecasts predict that the value of the installed microgrid market might triple or more this decade, with valuations expected close to $100 billion by 2030. And yet interconnection queues are backing up, causing many distributed energy projects to be delayed for up to five years or simply not make it to commissioning all due to the combined slow design, regulatory, and grid approval processes.

Understand How to Accelerate the Adoption of Microgrids: Nov. 28 Webinar with Schneider Electric

One reason for the interconnection delays and slow road from design to commissioning is the fact that the process is resource-intensive and often custom-engineered. Standardization and modularity might go a long way to improving that timeline for more customers in the commercial and industrial sectors.

Schneider Electric has been a longtime leader in developing and ensuring that microgrid projects are realized, either in its own work or by joint ventures such as AlphaStruxure and GreenStruxure. The company’s experience in doing so has led to some well-earned insights in developing a modular, streamlined approach and plans to partner with developers such as Scale Microgrids to create flexible projects which can accelerate the time from design to construction to interconnection and operations.

EnergyTech is hosting a free webinar with Schneider Electric microgrid leaders Don Wingate and Samantha Childress to highlight ways to improve resilience, optimize energy costs, and reach sustainability goals for customers. And do it in a more timely fashion.

The 2 p.m. ET webinar is Tuesday, Nov. 28 at EnergyTech.com. Join us for "Understand How to Accelerate the Adoption of Microgrids," an hour-long deep dive into making the microgrid installation process more seamless.

Many large-scale energy users such as Fortune 500 companies, and mission-critical users such as military bases, universities, healthcare facilities, public safety and data centers, shifting their energy priorities to reach net-zero carbon goals within the coming decades. These include plans for renewable energy power purchase agreements, but also on-site resiliency projects such as microgrids, combined heat and power, rooftop solar, energy storage, digitalization and building efficiency upgrades.
