Clean energy company Intersect Power has recently achieved commercial operation of its Radian solar project in Brown County, TX.
The project features solar panels manufactured by First Solar and can generate 415 MW or (320 MW ac) of solar energy, which is sufficient to power over 114,000 homes, Intersect says.
The solar project created more than 500 construction jobs during its three-year construction phase.
Intersect notes that the Radian solar project is part of its near-term portfolio, which encompasses a total of 2.2 GW of solar PV and 1.4 GWh of co-located storage. The company aims to have the entire portfolio operational by the end of 2023.
To fund the construction and operations of the Radian solar project and its broader portfolio, Intersect secured financing through a combination of portfolio level term debt, tax equity, and construction financing commitments from various financial institutions and investors.
