Twelve, the carbon transformation company, began construction on its commercial-scale E-Jet fuel production facility in Moses Lake, Washington. The facility is scheduled to be operational in 2024 and will produce approximately 40,000 gallons of fuel per year. Twelve plans on increasing this production capacity in the near future. The facility will also bring permanent clean energy jobs to Moses Lake and the surrounding area.

In partnership with Emerging Fuels Technology, Twelve produces E-Jet fuel, a power-to-liquid sustainable aviation fluid (SAF), using their carbon transformation technology. This technology uses renewable energy and water to transform CO₂ into chemicals, materials, and fuels conventionally made with fossil fuels. E-Jet fuel has up to 90% lower greenhouse gas emissions than petroleum-based jet fuels, meets all applicable ASTM International standards, and is compatible with the existing aircraft and airport infrastructure.

Under existing agreements, Alaska Airlines, Microsoft, and Shopify will be the first customers to receive products from the facility. Twelve also formed a three-party agreement with Alaska Airlines and Microsoft for their E-Jet fuel to be used in regular airline operations, helping achieve the company’s commitment to decarbonization.
