Summit Ridge Energy, LLC, a commercial solar developer, has awarded more than $20 million in contracts to Babcock & Wilcox Enterprises, Inc. The community solar projects will produce 25 MW of energy and are expected to be completed in 2024.

These projects mark the continuation of B&W and Summit Ridge Energy’s partnership, which includes a $15 million community solar project announced in 2023 and a $20 million project announced in 2022.

“As Summit Ridge Energy continues to expand our solar leadership in Illinois, we’re pleased to partner with B&W on another EPC contract,” said Raj Soi, Executive Vice President of Operations at Summit Ridge Energy. “We are proud of our work to create new jobs in Illinois, invest in the local economy, and provide solar power savings to households and businesses.”

In total, Summit Ridge Energy has invested more than $900 million in 116 solar farms across 35 Illinois counties. The projects have created 3,500 construction jobs and provided solar power savings to more than 20,000 Illinois residents.
