Polish electric bus manufacturer ARP E-Vehicles has selected Loop Energy's 60-kW T605 fuel cell system for its new hydrogen electric bus platform.

The fuel cell system will be integrated into a new hydrogen-electric bus from ARP E-Vehicles designed for the municipal transit service market in Europe. ARP E-Vehicles is anticipating its first hydrogen-electric bus in the fourth quarter of 2023 and expects commercial sales to initiate in 2024.

The order will not only represent use of Loop Energy’s new product line designed for rooftop mounting for the first time but will also help serve the European bus market.

“By 2028, bus manufacturers must fulfill the obligation within the EU for 30% of public transport to be zero-emissions. With Poland being the largest European producer of electric buses in Europe, we will see significant growth in the coming years,” said Piotr Śladowski, President of the Board at ARP E-Vehicles.

Drabpol, Loop Energy’s distribution partner in Poland, helped ARP E-Vehicles select an appropriate candidate for its requirement. Drabpol offers technical support, design, implementation and market development for numerous global brands in Poland, and is also a supplier within Polish bus manufacturing sector.

The fuel cell electric bus market is estimated to be an up to 12,000 units per year and a serviceable market opportunity across Korea, Australia, and Europe. With this announcement, Loop Energy has won for the sixth time globally and for the third time with European bus manufacturers.
