Major Hotel Chains Accelerate EV Charging Infrastructure Across the U.S.
Some of the nation’s best-known hotel chains will welcome electric vehicle charging sites at high-profile lodgings throughout the U.S.
Project developer Green Rain Energy Holdings will lead 29 hotel-based EV charging projects across 16 states. This electrification deployment includes brands such as Marriott, Hilton, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Sheraton, as well as boutique hotels.
“This is more than a rollout — it’s a movement,” said Alfredo Papadakis, CEO of Green Rain Energy, in a statement. “Our strategy combines installation expertise, financing, and renewable integration in one turnkey solution.”
Sites such as San Diego Marriott Mission Valley and Cocoa Beach Hilton are scheduled for early 2026 completion, with additional installations throughout the year. Green Rain aims to exceed 100 active charging sites nationwide by 2027 to be a part of a projected $121 billion EV infrastructure market.
Other locations to receive on-site EV charging infrastructure include hotels in Houston, Orlando and New York. Among those hotels include the Orlando Airport Holiday Inn, Houston Hilton North and Nashville Hotel Preston.
In an unconnected project announced last year lodging franchisor Choice Hotels International agreed to locate Tesla Universal Wall Connects to participating locations nationwide. Those participating brands include Radisson, Cambria, Comfort, Country Inn & Suites and Quality Inn.
EV adoption is growing the U.S. despite the sun-setting of tax credits and incentives for acquiring electric vehicles. New EVs accounted for nearly 10% of all retail vehicle registrations last year, according to Experian, while third-quarter 2025 EV sales rose dramatically as long-time credits were nearing their end. .
