ibV Energy Partners, a developer of integrated solar + storage power plants, is selling four of its large-scale solar projects in Louisiana and Wisconsin totaling 715 MW to U.S. power developer Exus Renewables North America (Exus).

The two companies announced on Tuesday that Exus will expand its portfolio by acquiring two Louisiana projects, Bayou Teche Solar (125 MW) in St. Mary Parish and Bayou Chicot Solar (280 MW) in Evangeline Parish. The remaining capacity comes from a two-phase 310 MW project, Maple Grove Solar 1 & 2, located in Barron County, Wisconsin.

While Exus did not disclose the financial details of this transaction, the independent owner and operator explained that it plans to advance these four projects through their next stages of development to bring them online. The goal is to support the surging demand for renewable, carbon-free power to the grid.

The Florida-based company, owned by German firm ib vogt, has 52 projects across 18 active states, making up 14 GW of solar and energy storage in its U.S. pipeline.

“ibV develops projects after careful site selection, with long-term project performance and relationships in mind,” said Chris McKissack, CEO of ibV Energy Partners, in a statement.

Jim Spencer, president and CEO of Exus Renewables North America, said in a statement that these projects were pursued due to their potential to be interconnected relatively quickly in these market regions where demand is currently outpacing available generation. According to a Reuters report, Spencer expects to line up offtake agreements within four to six weeks and is discussing sales with hyperscalers and utilities serving data-center load who are interested in buying electricity from the sites.

“The acquisition of these projects represents an important step in the continued growth of our development portfolio and reinforces our strategy of building a geographically and technologically diverse portfolio across the United States,” said Spencer.

In July, Exus announced the modernization of two Pennsylvania wind energy projects backed by $356 million in construction financing to deliver over 136 MW of newly rebuilt clean energy to data centers and other large energy consumers in the region.
