Two Oklahoma-based oilfield companies are partnering to decarbonize upstream activities with solar and battery storage.

Omnia Midstream Partners, which specializes in providing sustainable environmental solutions for the energy sector, worked on a project to integrate renewable energy into the Stateline field operations of Devon Energy Corp.

The project at Stateline field, located in the Delaware Basin within the larger Permian Basin reservoirs in west Texas, included the integration of the latest American-made solar panels, inverters, and battery storage into Devon’s oil and gas operations. The firm also leverages data from the existing platforms for predictive analytics and insights.

“Renewables can drive responsible growth in the traditional energy sector,” Omnia’s Co-Founder Chad Cagle said. “Our approach combines experience, data analytics, and renewable technologies to deliver sustainable energy transformations for oil and gas companies.”

Oklahoma City-based Devon’s position in the Delaware Basin includes some 400,000 net acres across multiple formations. Those drilling sites include the Wolfcamp, Bone Spring and Leonard formations.

Devon’s overall reserves total more than 1.6 billion barrels of oil equivalent across its U.S. drilling formations.
