Electric commercial vehicles firm Xos delivered 58 of its battery-electric stepvans to fleet management firm Merchants Fleet’s locations in San Diego and North Highlands in California and Hooksett in New Hampshire.
The deliveries are being done in this quarter of the year. The vehicles are Class 5 to Class 8 100-percent battery-electrics.
The stepvans are designed for use cases like, parcel delivery, textiles utility, repair trucks and armored transport. The van takes about 1.5 hour to charge and has a range of 120 to 150 miles.
“Fleet electrification is extremely important to us at Merchants,” said Hari Nayar, Vice President of Fleet Electrification and Sustainability at Merchants Fleet. “In 2021, we announced our $2.5 billion commitment to electrifying our fleet and the reservations and orders of 40,000 electric vehicles to achieve our goal of having 50% of our Mobility fleet electric by 2025 and 50% of our clients' fleets electric by 2030. Partnering with innovative OEMs like Xos helps us to reach this important goal.”
